Eagle Point Studies Option for Bus Service from RVTD
Eagle Point officials and the Rogue Valley Transportation District are studying a plan to extend bus service to that city. An April study determined it would cost up to $236,000 a year to provide service to Eagle Point and expand the service in White City to serve Rogue Community College.

School board votes on allowing staff purchases

Gold Hill desires part-time cop to curb crime
The City of Gold Hill hasn’t had a city paid law enforcement authority in over a decade but the hiring of a part-time cop is in the works for the small town which is typically protected by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Crews Knock Down House Fire, Near SOU Saturday Morning
Pajama-clad residents in a neighborhood above Southern Oregon University took to the street Saturday morning as twenty firefighters and command staff from Ashland Fire & Rescue, along with Jackson County Fire District #5 responded to a two-alarm fire at 588 Elkader St.
