State Police Incident Log for Monday
The Oregon State Police incident log states that Monday afternoon at 3:21 a non-injury crash was reported on I-5 at milepost 71. Marylin Joan Winter, 77, of Newport was southbound when she crashed into the center median because the sun was in her eyes. She was cited for failure to drive in her lane.
County Commissioners approve fee raises for multiple county departments
The Josephine County Commissioners during their Weekly Business Session today voted unanimously to increase fee schedules for multiple county departments.

A woman died in a traffic crash Monday afternoon when she failed to make a corner in the 400 block of Azalea Drive, left the roadway, impacted a tree and burst into flames.

Semi rollover blocks traffic on I-5 south of Medford

Christmas Tree Permits Now Available
Christmas tree permits are now officially available at Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management offices as well as at numerous vendor locations in southwest Oregon. The permits allow for the cutting of personal-use trees for Christmas and other holiday events. A permit is required for the harvest of each individual tree
October Employment Rates Steady for October
The total payroll employment in Josephine County fell by 190 jobs in October, however there was no change in the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate, which held steady at 9.6 percent from September through October.
Medford P.D. Reports Drug Deal Ends in Fight; One Injured
Sunday evening the Medford P.D. was dispatched to Union Park for a reported fight. Officers located the 18-year-old victim and found he was in the park discussing selling marijuana to the suspect, whom he did not know.
