Alfredo Sauce
¼ cup butter
1 cup half and half (heavy cream if you’re feeling decadent)
2-3 cloves of garlic, crushed
2 egg yolks, beaten
2 cups of freshly grated parmesan cheese
2 T. Italian seasoning or fresh basil
Salt and pepper to taste
In a medium sauce pan over medium heat, combine half and half, garlic and butter. Stir until butter is melted.
Remove from heat and stir in egg yolks. Return to low heat and stir in cheese until smooth and creamy.
Simmer 5-10 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Add seasoning and salt and pepper. Mix well and serve over pasta.
Makes about 4 servings.
