CARL WILSON First of all... thanks for listening to KAJO. I love being back on the air on KAJO, after doing only the Tuesday Talk Show for a number of years. It is great to be renewing old acquaintances! I began my career at family-owned KAJO when I was 12 years of age (answering the phone on Saturday mornings). My radio broadcasting career began in the summer of `67 at KAJO, when dad drove me to the station and turned me loose on the 5:20PM sports report! Not to bore you... I will present a quick picture of my life: I graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1970, served in the U.S. Navy (active duty) from 1971 to 1973, and came back to work at KAJO from 1973-1992. I moved to the KLDR morning show from 1992-1997 and was appointed to the Oregon Legislature in 1997. I was reelected twice in 1998 and 2000. I then returned to KAJO/KLDR in 2003. I continued to be General Manager here until summer of 2006 and then stepped aside to let brother Matt take his turn at the helm. Since then, I have continued as host of the Tuesday Talk Show and have resumed hosting a show on KAJO from 0800-1100 each day, Monday through Friday! I resumed my role as GM on June 1, 2011. I am married to Malinda and have been for 39 years. We have two grown children, JL and Lora. JL is married to Heather and between them; they have four children, Abigail, Tyler, Ashlynn and Johnny. Lora is married to Greg and they enjoy a great life together in Salem with the rest of the family. My hobbies? Motorcycles! This is a life-long pleasure of mine, having ridden a couple of hundred thousand miles since taking to the road in the summer of `68. Currently, my main ride is a 1998 Harley Davidson FLSTS. My "winter-time" ride is a Suzuki Burgman and I will soon be working on restoring a 1980 Triumph Bonneville that was purchased new by my dad and has been in the family since that time. |
